Multiplexed programmable RNA-guided
endonuclease (Transmid©), when provided
in a commensal, probiotic bacterium will
be transferred by conjugation into patients’
bacteria where they will inactivate
targeted genes.Plasmids encoding Transmid© will
replicate in target bacterial cells and be
passed on after cell division into offspring
cells. They can also continue to spread by
conjugation to other bacteria.Transmid© will inactivate any resistance
genes attempting entry by conjugation
thereby protecting the patient from the
spread of antibiotic resistance genes in
their microbiome. -
